Joseph Le

Joseph is the Chief of Staff for House Minority Leader Tom Sawyer since December 2020, serving as the House Minority Leader's top aid and overseeing House Democratic Leadership staff. He previously had been the Legislative Director, Operations Director, and Agenda Clerk in the same office within the last 3 years. Joseph began his time in the Kansas Legislature interning for former House Assistant Minority Leader, Stan Frownfelter.

 

Joseph started his political career as an intern for the Kansas Democratic Party, in the Third Congressional District, after the 2016 Presidential election.

In September 2019, Joseph was appointed by the City of Lawrence Mayor Lisa Larsen to fill a two-year term vacancy on the Douglas County Community Corrections Advisory Board.

Joseph is a graduate of the University of Kansas double majoring in Political Science and Psychology, BA. In addition to his academic work, he spent a considerable amount of time working for his University's IT department as well as for General Dynamics' IT department, where he worked on troubleshooting the Affordable Care Act (ACA) website during the Obama Administration.

In his free time, Joseph religiously follows NCAA Men's Basketball while rooting for the KU Jayhawks, tinkering with technology, and also spending time with his Akita, Emi.
